How the game is played

Baccarat is a standard game played in all casino centers. Coming in different variations makes it exciting and fun. The game’s objective is to bet on the hand that has values close to the natural or close to a value of nine.

Other components of the game from one version to the other:

MINI BACCARAT

Mini baccarat is a variation found in the United States of America, which has a similar attribute to that of the American Baccarat.

The mini-baccarat has a smaller table compared to the American baccarat table. It has a size approximately to that of a blackjack table. You can accomodate a maximum of seven players within this table. A longer croupier operates the table attending to all game details instead of a crew of three. The croupier handles the shoe at all times and functions as the dealer for all hands.

The sense of exclusivity found in other variations is missing and provides a less engaging atmosphere. Mini baccarat is not common and you can’t find even at the far corner-side of the casino. You can usually find it at the center, upfront and right in the middle of the grand casino floor alongside all other games. Mini-baccarat is accessible to everyone that wishes to try. The minimum bet could be as low as five dollars.

CHEMIN DE FER.

Chemin de fer has a French meaning railroad and this version of baccarat represent the French national baccarat treasure. Across Europe, some casinos offer the game but not available in North America. They require two players to get the game running. In this version of baccarat, they don’t fund the action by the casino.

Standard baccarat allows betting on either hand of the dealer or that of the player. But in this case, you are the player, dealer or the wagering spectator in each hand; players can pass on controlling the shoe and the action. Specific rules like “Hit and stand” slightly differs from the American version, thus providing more flexibility.

European Baccarat

European Baccarat is a version common in Europe and you can find in casinos within the European countries. Similar to Chemin de fer, the dealer finance the game and also determine the game cap. For instance, if the cap is 3000 dollars and the first player bet 2000 dollars and another player bets 500 dollars, more bets are allowed for that hand.

If the player says banco, this signifies that the player is ready to wager the entire cap. Caps are usually smaller than the ones funded by the house.

Baccarat en Banque

In casinos around Europe, baccarat en Banque is available to play. The casino funds the action and the game requires the presence of one player at the table.

The difference between Baccarat en Banque and all other versions is that the dealer deals with three hands; a dealer’s hand and two other players. Players can stake on either of the two players’ hands but the dealer’s hand. They are no set rules; dealers make the rule and vary from one dealer to another.
